To view Word documents you will need a copy of Word or Word Viewer. See Download Tools to get your free download.
Word documents should only be downloaded from this site for the purposes of extracting source material into your own documents. (However, please refer to the copyright statement on the left-hand side of the screen prior to doing so). Due to the time that it takes to download a Word document from the Internet, it is not recommended that you use the Word document for viewing data on screen. The PDF and HTML formats have been specifically designed for this purpose—thereby allowing you to access your data on screen much faster.
Downloading a Word document may take time. Please note that the speed of the download will depend on many factors including:
Using a 56K modem, it takes 6-7 minutes to download 1 Megabyte. A 256K modem can perform the same function in 2 minutes.
For viewing on screen and printing of data in its original format
To view PDF documents you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader. See Download Tools to get your free download.
We recommend that you download PDFs by right clicking on the PDF icon and saving the file to a location on your local drive.
To download a Word or PDF document
We recommend that you save the Word and PDF documents directly to your desktop. To do this, right click on the W or PDF icon and save the document to a location on your local drive.
In Internet Explorer, use 'Save Target as'
In Netscape 4, use 'Save link as'
In order to reduce download time some documents have been compressed using
(WinZip) to open such a file you will need a copy of WinZip.

To view data in HTML, simple click on the blue e. Note that larger files with data charts and graphics may take a few extra seconds to load. You should look for the word "Done" in the bar at the bottom of the screen. This will tell you that the file has been loaded into the browser.
